Gina Therese McDonald - Artist Statement
Since graduating from the Newcastle Art School in 2011, majoring in printmaking, I have been attempting to create works that reflect both an inner and outer world. While etching is my main technique I also enjoy the exploration of woodcuts, monotypes and drypoints, to name a few! Printmaking as an artform as opposed to an orthodoxy can offer a freedom to experiment with its elements of alchemy and ability to be unpredictable.
My work has been exhibited in a number of galleries through the Newcastle and Hunter Region and more recently in Japan.
