Should I resize images before uploading them?
Yes. The Online Galleries System will automatically resize images for you but to reduce the time it takes to upload the images its always a good idea to resize them first. The good news is that this is a quick and painless process with many free aplications available that can batch process your images for you.

A good, free, cross-platform application is Resize!

After downloading and launching Resize change the settings to those shown here:

Then select the folder of images you wish to process and say 'Go'. A new folder will be created with all your resized images that are ready to be uploaded into the Online Galleries System.

It is worth noting that your images need to be in JPG format before attempting to upload them. While Resize! will not convert your images to JPG there are many other applications (such as Adobe Photoshop) that can do this for you.

If the application automatically resizes images, please indicate exactly what it resizes images to for gallery display, enlarged images, and thumbnails.

Hi Judy,

The maximum sizes are as follows:

Full Screen (enlarged image): 950px wide by 600px high
Medium Size (gallery display): 615px wide by 385px high
Thumbnails: 80px by 80px

Hope that helps
